UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
02/08/2020. Mackay are the 2020 district men’s division (1) champions!
A great weekend of lawn bowls, with the best on offer from the 6 district division (1) clubs produced a nail biting finish to this years’ abbreviated pennant season (5 rounds). After solid performances in the first 4 rounds, Mackay, Proserpine and Suburban were all in the running for the prize going into the last round. Mackay needed to defeat Proserpine on all rinks to claim the title.
Wow! Our boys did it! Showing great composure under pressure from last years champions, our men played great bowls and some unbelievable shots to stay in the hunt in a very tight game. It came down to the last end on the last rink to decide the outcome. Fantastic!
Appreciation to all clubs for a great weekend of bowls, played in great spirits. North Mackay were wonderful hosts and conducted a fantastic weekend of bowls. Well done all. Results..
